If any of you wish to have access to newFamilySearch.org here are the
instructions for doing that.

Go to FamilySearch.org, sign-in, and then go to the following link:
https://www.familysearch.org/help/viewdocument?documentId=112926&sliceId=SAL_Public&userQuery=112926
<https://www.familysearch.org/help/viewdocument?documentId=112926&sliceId=SAL_Public&userQuery=112926>

in the document that opens, look for this paragraph:
A member of the general public may register to be given access to the
new FamilySearch program through the registration page. **Click here**
to open the registration page.

Click on the underlined link 'Click here". Request for access is no
longer needed and it will now take you directly into newFamilySearch.
You may then go into the site anytime using the same username and
password that you use at FamilySearch.org.

When you first go in you will need update your profile (use same
password to get into profile) and change your contact methods (the
default is email only, you can also add phone and snail mail address)
and create a helper access number - 5 digits, any combination of letters
or numbers, no characters.

Your tree begins with you by defautlt. You can begin to add/find family
immediately.

On the home page there are links to excellent guides and tutorials.
There is excellent help found everywhere, as well as help by phone, chat
and email.

Warning: avoid adding living people, the site will NOT search for living
individuals. The system defines dead as anyone who has a death date or
has a birth date more that 110 years ago or a marriage date more than 95
years ago or has a child whose is more that 110 years old. Living
individuals can only be seen by those who added them to the system.
