[or-roots] 1940 census

What does the image show?

There is a familysearch.org arbitrator on this list but as only an indexer, I know that 2 separate different people independently indexed a page of the census.

When the two indexers are not in agreement, the results are sent to Arbitration, where the arbitrator makes the decision as to which version of the indexing will be published.  

I have read that soon Familysearch will have the ability of the user making a “correction”.  I am assuming that this will be somewhat similar to that employed by ancestry.

Thanks. Using FamilySearch worked for me. Interesting though, is that when I checked my family all the birth years were off by one year and the given/middle names were switched, e.g., my grandfather was Ralph William Perry but the web site showed William Ralph Perry.

In the upper right corner is a 1940 logo’ish thing with writing underneath.  

Clicking on the logo will bring up a map, click on the red, white and blue map.

It will divide into state.

Click on Oregon and you should be good to go.  

No password needed
