Easy
57
27
5+2 = 7 divided by 2 = 3.5, round up to 4 and you have 47.
Maybe the enumerator couldn't remember who was in which house and decided to
split the difference. <grin>

Subject: [or-roots] More Census whining
Found a real good one today, off in my distant cousins on the eastern
seaboard and find father and son two doors apart in the 1860 census both
listed as age 47, nice try guys but dad was 57 and son was 27.
Love to know how that got where it got to.
And I would really love to show it to the lady at North Bend FHC who
insisted I had to assume the information was more or less correct.
