My Pickler family came west by way of Virginia (1718 - part of the Germanna
immigrant 2nd group), on to North Carolina, Iowa, Indiana, and Missouri
before 1870 My great grandfather Lemon Albert Pickler, son of George
Pickler and Emily (Wilkes) Pickler) married Ella Minerva Wilkes on 28 May
1874, Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri. They travel west from Missouri to
Elko, Nevada where my grandfather Claude L Picker was born. Lemon Pickler
moved on Inyo Kern, California (1880) with his family, then to Mineral,
Washington County, Idaho by 1900. By 1905, Lemon Pickler had moved his wife
and children to Union County, Oregon. He and his family then relocated to
Portland Oregon by 1910 where he and his wife Ella lived out the rest their
lives. Lemon Albert Pickler was born 1852, Indiana and died 1921, Portland,
Oregon and buried Lincoln Memorial Park Funeral Home. His occupation was as
a Civil Engineer. His wife, Ella Minerva Wilkes Pickler was born 1856,
Missouri and died 1938, Portland Oregon and buried Rose City Cemetery
Lemon Albert Pickler is had six brother and four brothers. Two brother
(John Alfred Pickler, South Dakota and Samuel M, Pickler, Missouri) were
early Congressman. Richard M Pickler, Kansas was a Circuit Judge in Smith
County, Kansas. William James Pickler, Iowa was a Laborer. Edwin C Pickler
another brother was a physician in Minnesota.
As you can see my ancestor are scattered from North Carolina to Oregon to
California. If you have any information, I would love to hear it.

Glen, Thanks for the info. The Shaver Family Tree I found does not seem to
be my line. Family was I believe originally from PA, at some point moved to
OH and the family came to Oregon from IA as near as I can tell. And dont
seem to be related to the Shaver Transportation family (although it is still
unclear). My G G Grandfather Ulysses Grant Shaver spent some time as a
captain on one of the riverboats, and there was a photo of him at the old
museum at Champoeg. Probably long gone now. FMs parents were William Shaver
and Elizabeth Walker Shaver and it seems from the early Oregonian search
that they had at least 9 children but I have no information about any of
them except for Francis and his brother Adam. I dont have a lot of time to
research, but do what I can. Thanks again. Fran Vlahos-Rohm

Anyone from the Portland area. I am looking for my Great Aunt and Uncle.
My Aunt name was Emma Paulene Pickler and her husband was Herman Heinrich
Walch.
Emma was teacher in public school and Herman was a proprietor of service
station. Their address was 1197 E. Yamhill in Portland.
