RE:  American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Funding Under IDEA

Please read this document carefully.  It is also on the ODE web site but I wanted you to have a direct copy of this information.  The attachment contains a set of four questions relative to the ARRA and the formula funds for districts under Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).  It informs you of the statewide allocations, considerations for spending, examples of valid expenditures for the funds and most importantly an explanation of the differences between Maintenance of Effort (MOE) for IDEA formula flow through funds and MOE for those funds under the State Fiscal Stabilization Fund (SFSF).  It is very important that you and your district understand the differences between the two and question #4 of this document explains it very well.  Please feel free to share this document with anyone in your district you feel needs this information.  I will keep you informed of any other materials and directions as they become available.
