RE: Timeline for 2010-2011 Special Education Report Cards and 2011-2012 Special Education Child Count
The public release date for the 2010-2011 Special Education Report Cards is Wednesday April 4, 2012. In preparation for that date, I want to inform you of timelines and documents that may assist you with this required public reporting. Please see below for action items by district administrators.
In addition, in order to better streamline ODE reporting and release processes, I am informing you that ODE is moving the Special Education Child Count (SECC) release from March 7 to April 4 so that it aligns with the release of the Special Education Reports. No further action is required by the district.
March 8 - March 14: District Preview of the 2010-2011 Special Education Report Cards
Drafts of the 2010-2011 Special Education Report Cards will be posted on the secure district site for your preview: https://district.ode.state.or.us/apps/login/. ODE expects each district to proof its district report and either "Accept" or "Appeal" the report.
If there are errors, ODE will expect the district to click on the "Appeal" button and provide the details of the correction(s) that the district is suggesting. However, please be advised that ODE will not change any data that have been submitted and previously validated by the district.
Technical Assistance Documents for the 2010-2011 Special Education Report Cards
ODE will post the 2010-2011 Special Education Report Card technical assistance documents listed below at the link: http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?=1831
1. Samples of this year's report card formats will be posted for your planning purposes. ODE will produce each district's report in English and Spanish.
2. ODE will post the 2010-2011 Technical Manual for use in calculating and validating your data.
3. ODE will post the Notes for the 2010-2011 School District Special Education Report Cards for your use in communicating this information to parents and community members. ODE will produce the Notes in English and Spanish.
For additional information, please email the mailbox at ODE.SchoolAgeRpt at state.or.us<mailto:ODE.SchoolAgeRpt at state.or.us>.
April 2: Final Special Education Report Cards Available to Districts
Final pdf versions of the 2010-2011 Special Education Report Cards will be available to districts on the secure district site: https://district.ode.state.or.us/apps/login/. No changes will be made on or after this date.
April 4: Public Release of the 2010-2011 Special Education Report Cards and the 2011-2012 Special Education Child Count (SECC)
