I wanted to let all of you know that I am leaving the Oregon Department of Education in early July to move, with my husband to California, to be closer to our son.  Leaving ODE will be difficult for me as I have really loved the job and the people.  I have used the phrase 'bitter-sweet' to try and capture my feelings and thoughts at this time, and if I could have both worlds, I would do so.  However,  that is not possible, so the value of family comes first.

Some thoughts I left with the staff of Student Services and I share with you:

[*]     Remember kindness and grace every day;

[*]     Be true to yourself and always take the high road as it will never steer you wrong;

[*]     And one that I learned from my Mother...patience is a virtue.

Thank you for sharing your work passion and 'some of yourself' with me during my time here at ODE.  It has been my honor to work with you to support the students and families of Oregon.
