Join us for SORA's summer webinar, featuring a panel discussion on open data, transparency, and responsibility. Our primary topic of discussion will be to look at natural disaster data and how understanding it can help guide our work. This SORA session will be the first of many opportunities to discuss how the topic of resiliency is prominent in the minds of Oregonians and ways that we can use open data to better serve the needs of our communities.

Many countries recognize that there is a need for coordinated efforts to assess environmental risk and mapping resources. The State of Oregon Research Academy is committed to building bridges between state and local governments and the people of Oregon we serve. We hope this event will be both an opportunity for communal voices and cross agency collaboration to begin mapping the gaps between what we know is needed during an emergency and what our communities can effectively weather.

During this event we will have on the panel Hector Aguirre-Dominguez. Hector coordinates work on open and private data (and AI) in Portland and organizes different open data events<https://www.portland.gov/bps/smart-city-pdx/events/past?search=open+data>.
