DHS Youth Services is seeking applicants interested in hosting an Americore Volunteer for the 9/1/12 - 7/31/12 grant period to work on obesity prevention and nutrition education related efforts. This Invitation to Apply is being resent due to necessary revisions in the original documents.  The revised deadline for submission is 4:00 p.m. May 29, 2012.

DHS Youth Services Programs Unit is inviting Applications from potential host sites who are interested in hosting full-time AmeriCorps Members for the grant term from Sept. 1, 2012 through July 31, 2013.  The DHS AmeriCorps Program's focus is on Obesity Prevention and Nutrition Education. Please see attachments:

1. Host Site Invitation to Apply
2. Host Site Application Form;
3. Service and Training Plan Worksheets; and
4. Position Description Part 1.

The DHS - AmeriCorps Program will place up to 19 full-time AmeriCorps Members in communities across Oregon to serve in Community and faith-based organizations; Non-profit 501(c)3 organizations; Schools, School Districts, and Educational Service Districts; Colleges and Universities; Health service providers; Extension Service providers; After School programs; and government agencies such as city, county, regional, state, federal, and tribal.

If your organization does not intend to apply as a Host Site, please pass this Announcement on to local organizations or partnerships who work with youth & family services in this  focus areas.
