[Libs-Or] PLA Hotels

Hi all:
Imagine my surprise when I registered for PLA (or started to register anyway) and discovered that all of the hotels within walking distance are already booked. Silly me-I should have done this long ago apparently. Has anyone had any luck recently or have any suggestions for places that might not be too far? I'm trying to avoid renting a car if possible.
