The University of Oregon Portland Library and Learning Commons is accepting applications for a Temporary Circulation and Access Services Manager.

The Temporary Circulation and Access Services Manager is primarily responsible for access and circulation services, student worker supervision, and some collection services for the University of Oregon Portland Library and Learning Commons and members of the public.   These duties include:


  *   Managing and documenting integrated library system for branch functions.
  *   Troubleshooting and resolving circulation and access problems and patron queries.
  *   Managing resource sharing and interlibrary loan system for branch functions.
  *   Creating circulation and access statistics and reports as needed.
  *   Communicating with colleagues in Eugene and Portland about circulation, access, resource sharing, and collections issues for the Portland Library and Learning Commons.
  *   Collaborating with the Head to manage and train approximately 2.5 FTE student workers.
  *   Coordinating student worker schedules, time sheets, and hiring paperwork.
  *   Creating and maintaining student worker training materials and documentation.
  *   Managing and processing course reserves and course reserves documentation.
  *   Managing serials workflows, intake, binding, and processing for the branch.
  *   Assisting the Head with some collection management tasks (e.g. weeding, stacks maintenance, searches, etc.)
  *   Providing basic circulation, information, and reference or referral services to patrons.
  *   Updating internal and public-facing calendars as needed.
  *   Other duties as required.

Desired Qualifications

  *   Demonstrated experience providing circulation and access services, resource sharing, and interlibrary loan services in an academic library.
  *   Demonstrated experience supervising student workers.
  *   Familiarity with Ex Libris, ILLiad, and other resource sharing systems and software.
  *   Strong verbal and written communication and comprehension skills.
  *   Ability to manage projects to completion and collaborate effectively with peers and student workers.
  *   Able to climb stairs, bend, lift, and sit for prolonged periods.
  *   Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, although this is not part of the regular work schedule.

Salary:  $2769 to $4175 per month for full time, depending on experience.  FTE to be determined.
