Brian Vegter has been the part-time Executive Director at Libraries of
Eastern Oregon since the summer of 2016. His latest article is about an
arts program funded through ArtPlace America with a budget of $250,000,
which would pair artists with agricultural producers to help impact
conversations with local governments and national agencies about how the
arts benefit rural economies. Please download and read, “Agriculture and
Art Meet at the Library,” here:

>From Brian’s article: “The Harvesting Our Stories and the Voices of the
Forest by far had the largest regional and national impact as part of our
ArtPlace America “Art Engage at the Library” project. We also had more than
100 regional programs at libraries, theaters, and schools during the
fifteen months of the project. Writers, painters, filmmakers, and musicians
all took time to share their talents and knowledge with the rural part of
our state. At https://tinyurl.com/y8q5oly2, you can view the films and see
a sampling of the programs, plus we have a map of the region for arts and
cultural organizations, galleries, and individual artists.”

Be sure to click on the link in the above paragraph, and scroll down the
page to watch some of the amazing short films produced for this project,
and learn more about a remote, but vital region of our state.

Thank you,
Charles Wood
