Hi all -
Buzzy Nielsen and I are writing an OLAQ article about the privacy/security
implications of some policies we enacted during our time at Crook County
Library, including a no sleeping policy. This move was inspired by a panel
discussion at the 2018 OLA Conference in Eugene that, unfortunately, was
not about sleeping in and of itself -- I say "unfortunately" because I
can't remember which one it was! It was most likely a Friday afternoon
session -- possibly either the one on Growing Into Management or the one on
weapons in the library, but I don't feel confident choosing one over the
other (and it could have been either or neither). I've looked through notes
on the conference page, and no joy. Does anyone who was around for that
conference remember what I'm talking about? Most people in the room that
day indicated that their libraries had sleeping policies, which came as a
surprise to me because my library did not.
Thanks and have a great weekend,
