Hi everyone,

Today's shoutout is going to a couple folks - At Wednesday's summer reading office hours, we were chatting about alternative prizes/prizes that don't cost a ton of money and it made me think of the below message from my colleague in Kentucky, who was eager to share about this library's kidbrarian program - it reminded me of things like in school when kids got to be a principal for a day - A kidbrarian for the day could be a fun prize!

Similarly, I learned Seaside is planning some radio spots about summer at the library, and their Winter Reading Contest winners get to participate in those radio spots - what a great prize idea too! I hope you all have a great weekend and the sunshine sticks around for all of us!

Jennifer Sullivan at Anderson Public started a program where kiddos ages 8-12 shadow librarians for a day.  These two sisters were her pilot group.

We hosted our first two Kidbrarians today, sisters Maci and Maddie. They toured the library and met some of the staff, then they each helped select books for a book display. Stop by and check out some of their recommendations!

Maci likes funny books, Wonder Woman, and pigs. Her favorite color is purple, and she might want to be a police officer when she grows up. Maddie also likes funny books, playing softball, and loves cows! Her favorite color is pink. They both enjoyed the petting zoo at last year's Summer at the Library kick-off party.
