I’ll also chime in in favor of beer and wine, as opposed to a full bar.

I also think it would be wise to wait for the RSVPs to get a sense of how many people will be in attendance before we make any final food decisions.

That being said, if we’ve got the money to spend, I say we go all out. We want to make a good impression on people and establish the ORS as being top notch. The reception will be some folks first impression and we want to make it a good one ☺

I think beer and wine is plenty, and the menu prices gave me a bit of sticker shock.  Will we be charging any additional amount for the social event?  If not, how much can we afford to provide?
As a person with dietary needs/preferences, I think we'd want to select at least two food items, including one appropriate for vegetarians.  I don't know whether we should take the possibility of nut allergies, etc. into consideration.
I can't even express how strong the impulse to get on the hold list for the Hillsboro Brookwood library's commercial popcorn popper is.  I know we can't use it, for clear and valid reasons, but still....

It’s the time of day where all the food looks delicious. Were we still thinking of giving folks one free drink ticket?

I was just wondering if we could get people to rsvp before deciding on what food to get (based on budget)?

I feel like beer and wine would be totally adequate.

As far as the food, it all looks good. The hot Hors D'oeuvres seem most fitting for an evening soiree. But there are a lot of nice choices on the whole menu.

In the past we had about 15-25 folks come to these so that's probably a fair guess.

Hi all,

I received catering info for our social event the night before OrRS, and am interested to hear your opinions.

Food: see attached menu.

Drinks (no-host):

•       For a two hour service and a beer and wine bar, the set-up fee will be $75. The selections will include 2 house red wines at $7/glass, 2 house white wines at $7/glass, and a selection of 6 bottled domestic and import/craft beers at $5 and $6 respectively.

•       The set-up fee for a premium bar with beer, wine, and liquor will be $150 for a three hour service. The selections will include everything from the beer and wine bar along with house liquors (with mixers and garnishes) at $9/drink.
