Hello District 5 Child Welfare and Self-Sufficiency Staff and Community Partners,

Here are some Mental and Physical Health resources from our community that we are excited share with you all!

[cid:image006.jpg at 01DA2C39.B96CBC40]FACT Oregon<https://factoregon.org/> empowers families and transforms how communities perceive disability through peer support, trainings, and resources that equip and empower families, transform how they see disability, and help them have high expectations and dream big dreams for their children. They support families navigate disability and special education, drawing on the lived experience of their team, many themselves parents of youth experiencing disability, and they call out the critically important role of parent/caregiver as a child's number one fan and advocate.

  *   ODHS STAFF - Take a moment to learn more about getting an IEP, Early Intervention, and more through their On-Demand Trainings<https://factoregon.org/ondemand-trainings>(Please get manager approval). These trainings are also great to refer to parents as a way empower them to support their youth more confidently.

[cid:image008.png at 01DA2C24.3411AF70]Karuna Doulas hosts Death Cafes for people who are interested in talking about death and dying and they are starting a new weekly Grief and Bereavement Support Group this month that will run for 10 weeks.

This includes options for joining the Veteran Surf Group, enjoying a Veteran lunch, and Ocean therapy.

[cid:image014.jpg at 01DA2C39.B96CBC40] Oakridge Air is offering Home Heating Upgrades, a Community Firewood Program, and education programs to help decrease health impacts from wood smoke in the communities of Oakridge and Westfir.
These towns sit at the valley bottom of the western slope of the Cascades, where bad air doesn't move out making the area especially vulnerable to smoke pollution from old woodstoves, burning unseasoned wood and debris, and wildfires.
