AFFORDABLE CONNECTIVITY WIND-DOWN

Please see attached fact sheet for important information on the Affordable Connectivity Program Wind-Down: The allotted $14.2 billion to fund the ACP is projected to run out in April 2024 (this date is an estimate and may change). As a result, the FCC has begun taking steps to wind down the ACP.

  *   ACP applications and enrollments will not be processed after February 7, 2024 at 11:59 PM ET.
  *   Households who have applied, been approved, and are receiving the monthly internet discount before February 8, 2024 will continue to receive their ACP benefit until ACP funds run out, as long as the household remains enrolled in the program.
  *   After the ACP funds run out (projected in April 2024), households participating in the ACP will no longer receive the ACP discounts.

FOOD FOR THE SOUL PROGRAM

Food for the Soul is a FREE program designed to help families achieve food security via access to FREE in-person and virtual cooking classes, financial and budgeting courses, nutrition and meal planning courses, and urban gardening classes. CHILDCARE WILL BE PROVIDED FOR FREE!

The Black Cultural Initiative's goal is to provide cultural supports to African American/Black businesses and families in Lane County. We are excited to announce the opening of registration for our Food for the Soul program, in collaboration with St. Mark CME.

FREE COOKING & NUTRITION CLASSES

Lane County has received a waiver that considers SNAP food destruction in our area already verified - no additional verification of the storm/damage/power outage is required.

Lane County offers free storm debris disposal for county residents at its solid waste transfer site on Sears Road on Friday-Sunday from 8am-4pm through Feb 11.  (No commercial disposal accepted.)

Cottage Grove Ice Storm Debris Drop Off Sites: Two drop off sites are currently (1/22) available to collect storm debris: Bohemia Park's gravel parking lot on Monroe Avenue and at the Row River Nature Park. County Damage Assessment Form: Lane County residents whose homes were damaged in the recent ice storm are asked to fill out an online damage assessment form. Both renters and property owners are encouraged to complete the form. This website is intended to help those in our community seeking shelter either for themselves, or for someone else, know what shelters have beds available on a given night and what criteria there are for accessing those shelters.

Those accessing the site can filter through the shelters based on unique needs and be pointed in the direction of those shelters that best meet those needs.

Additionally, by clicking on the bed icons located on the embedded map, site visitors can see information about the shelters including pictures, intake information, what they can expect when accessing and other important details.

Please note that we do not currently have all shelters in Lane County participating on the page, but hope to have them added soon. We have asked participating shelters to update their available bed information a minimum of once a day but more frequently if they are able. The date and time of last update is located next to each shelter bed inventory.

People can now securely manage their medical, food, cash and child care benefits through the State of Oregon from the convenience of their mobile devices using the new Oregon ONE Mobile app. People first will need to apply for benefits online, in person at a local office or over the phone.
