Tuesday Tidbits are short, specific info bites you can use and share to increase collective knowledge of Lane County's wide-ranging community resource landscape.
Below you will find local Mental and Physical Health resources being offered in our local community.

[cid:image001.png at 01DA63F0.6FFFB1E0] Trevor Whitbread, a bilingual therapist employed with South Lane Mental Health, ran a psychoeducation group about Bad Bunny and mental health topics, during the 2022-2023 academic year. The class was a success, and Trevor is running it again with an online option for young adults and students who may be interested in accessing this resource.

This group uses Bad Bunny's music, interviews and video content as a point of departure into exploring the science of emotions with a focus on how these topics are covered in Latin American cultures and Spanish-speaking households in the United States. The information provided will be evidence based and intersectional in scope. That means we will also be talking about how colonialism, oppression, race and identity collide and diverge within the theme of emotions and culture.

This is a therapy group facilitated by a qualified mental health professional, Trevor Whitbread. His goal is to provide education and content about mental health topics to demystify therapy and provide participants with a taste of how working with a therapist can be beneficial. While we will be facilitating an intake an assessment process, there is no requirement to continue with therapy beyond the group unless participants are interested. This resource is free and provided at no cost to participants and families.

Eligible students include:

  *   Any young adult (ages 18-22) that identifies as Latinx
  *   A home or primary address in Lane County
  *   Oregon Health Plan (Trillium or PacificSource)
  *   Access to a computer or smart device that can run Microsoft Teams and a private space to hang out online
