Hello District 5 Self-Sufficiency/Child Welfare Staff and Community Partners,

Tuesday Tidbits are short, specific info bites you can use and share to increase collective knowledge of Lane County's wide-ranging community resource landscape.   Below you will find Mental and Physical Health resources being offered in and for our local community.

[cid:image005.jpg at 01DB140D.A96599E0]Mental health & addiction support for teens and young adults from certified peer supporters is available through Peers.net.
Peer support is an evidence-based, trauma aware and culturally responsive form of support rooted in youth agency and shared experiences.

[cid:image007.png at 01DB140D.A96599E0][cid:image009.png at 01DB140D.A96599E0]HIV Alliance and NAACP are partnering to offer BIPOC Community Health Worker Drop-In Hours on Mondays, 12-4pm at the Historic Mims House, 330 High St, Eugene.
Anyone is able to come to the drop in hours and get more information about their program. Please see the attached flyer to learn more.

Lane County Public Health wants you to know that pertussis (whooping cough) is still active in our community.

Be aware and take precautions!

Watch for symptoms, especially in young children, infants who can't be vaccinated, elders, and those who are medically compromised.

Vaccination remains the best way to prevent pertussis.
