Saving Grace is currently in need of clothing for children ages 3 months and up for the summer. Also, any light jackets would be very helpful.

As we prepare for our annual Children's Festival we are in need of stuffed animals. If you have any gently used or new animals that you are willing to part with, please send them
our way.
Mary's Place our vistiation and exchange center is in need of a rolling storage cart for arts and craft supplies/materials.

Household items such as  dry laundry detergent, tissue and toilet paper are also a current need at our shelter right now.

Dear Erin,

  April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month across the nation. Saving Grace is thrilled to announce that all three Central Oregon counties have proclaimed April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month as well. 1 in 6 women will be a victim of rape or attempted rape in her lifetime. The greatest myth is that the attacker is a stranger; while actually 84% of those raped knew their attacker and 57% of the rapes happened on dates. Check out how people are coming together to be the change in their community!

Sexual Assault Awareness Month Campaign Video

Join us on Thursday, April 19th in Bend as we "Climb to New Heights to Take Back the Night". This awareness event will take place at Pilot Butte State Park at 6pm. It's free and we encourage everyone to attend. Seeking Saving Graces

Being a Saving Grace Board member is a wonderful way to contribute to the work of Saving Grace.

If you would like to contribute your expertise, opinions, and energy to the Board of Directors, we would be very excited to speak with you.You do NOT need any board experience! We are especially interested in broadening the range of voices on the Board of Directors and welcome young and old, gay and straight, Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson county residents, Spanish-speaking and not, male and female, if you wear a blue collar, a pink collar, or a white collar (or all three!), experienced in many cultures or just one -we would be pleased to talk with you.

Come meet us - we have a long process for bringing Board members on board (pun intended). You may decide during any step of the process that this isn't the right place for you at this time. "Shine A Light on Sexual Assault" Light Procession

Events throughout Central Oregon
We kicked off the month with some great events in both Prineville and Madras. Thank you to all the community members who came out to show support!

In Prineville community members came together to "Shine a Light on Sexual Assault". A light procession featuring the Crook County Sheriff's Office, Prineville Police Department and Prineville Fire Department started off the night with a procession down the main street in town. This was quite the sight as the flashing lights from the police and sheriff's car as well as fire trucks lite up the sky. Following the procession was a brief ceremony at Ochoco Viewpoint. Flashlights and headlights were shinning toward town.  The proclamation declaring April as Sexual Assault Awareness month was read.

In Madras, "Hands Around the Courthouse" was a way for community members to show their support. The group linked up with a ribbon around the Jefferson County Courthouse to form a complete circle then read the proclamation declaring April Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Madras. This was another great awareness month activity bringing together both community members and public officials to show their support.

Every month, Saving Grace hosts a one hour presentation, Inside Saving Grace.The Executive Director of Saving Grace, Janet Huerta, her staff and Board will guide you through our services and share with you the stories of victims and survivors of domestic violence.
