 *   FY 2008 and FY 2007 Funding Status.  Wave 19 for FY 2008 will be released on Tuesday, August 19th.  Wave 60 for FY 2007 was unexpectedly released last Friday.
 *   $800 Million in Newly Designated Funds Already Available for Rollover.  USAC’s latest quarterly projections filed with the FCC shows a surprisingly high increase of $800 million in available unused funds (which had recently been growing only at a $150 million quarterly rate).  Unless the FCC changes its rule, this additional funding (plus any other unused funds identified over the next three quarters) will be available for rollover into FY 2009.
 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.  Four of the seven SLD fall training sessions are now in wait list mode.  Initial comments on the draft ESL for FY 2009 were submitted last week; reply comments are due this Thursday.  An FCC appeal Order released last week is consistent with recent applicant-friendly decisions.
 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief for August 15th.  This week’s issue discusses use of the SLD’s online Submit a Question feature to ask E-rate questions.
