Thank you to all of you who have responded to the FCC Comment Survey so far. Your efforts are very much appreciated. I’ve gotten a couple of questions along the way that I thought I would address here.

1. Do I have to answer every question?

No, only answer the ones that you have the information or expertise to answer. Feel free to forward the survey to others in your agency who have information you do not. It is absolutely ok to have more than one entry per district.

2. Do I have to do all the questions at once?
No, you can stop and submit the form at any time. If you do not submit the form before closing it, your answers WILL BE LOST and you will need to start over. If you know you will be submitting more answers later, you can simply make a note of what question you are on, and when you open the form again, just start with that question. You can do this as many times as is necessary to work around your schedule.

Keep the questions coming, I’m always here to help!

See the attached newsletter for articles on:

 * FY 2008 and FY 2009 Funding Status. Wave 26 for FY 2009 will be released on Tuesday. Although there is no change in Priority 2 funding for FY 2009, the SLD is set to lower the threshold to 80% as soon as the FCC approves. FY 2009 continues to lag behind comparable benchmarks for recent years. Wave 72 for FY 2008 will be released on Wednesday. There is still no resolution of Priority 2 funding at 87%.
 * Two FCC Requests for Comments. The FCC issued an important request for comments on broadband needs in education which suggests possibly significant changes to the E-rate program. The FCC also issued an NPRM to updated and revise its CIPA rules.
 * E-Rate Updates and Reminders. Copies of training slides used in this fall’s E-rate workshops are available online.
 * Schools and Libraries News Brief dated November 6th. Last week’s News Brief provides a number of answers to common questions raised during this fall’s training workshops.
