* Funding Status. Funding Wave 52 for FY 2009 will be released this week. The SLD is awaiting FCC authorization to the first funding wave for FY 2010. The FCC could approve up to $900 million in roll-over funding For FY 2010, suggesting Priority 2 funding may again reach 80%.
* National Broadband Plan/E-Rate Update. The FCC Chairman has proposed a new approach to the regulation of broadband Internet services. This proceeding is likely to delay implementation of key aspects of the National Broadband Plan, but may not have too significant an impact on the first E-rate NPRM and Order expected later this month.
* E-Rate Updates and Reminders. Cyberbullying is focusing attention on new social network sites (e.g. Formspring) and sparking legislative initiatives at the state level.
