See the attached newsletter for articles on:
* Funding Status. Wave 22 for FY 2011 and Wave 75 for FY 2010 are scheduled for release this week. Priority 2 funding is being provided at 90% for FY 2011. The application window for FY 2012 is expected to open in the first week of January and close in mid-March.
* FCC's "Connect to Compete" Program. The FCC has enlisted the cooperation of numerous companies, including the larger cable companies, to provide significantly lower-priced access to broadband Internet and computers for low-income families. This may yield benefits for e-learning and E-rate discounts.
* E-Rate Updates and Reminders. The FCC approved a few appeals involving gifts made prior to the adoption of their new gift rules. Invoice deadline extension requests can be made in bulk online. SLD fall training is over, but other training is available.
* Schools and Libraries News Brief dated November 11. Last week's News Brief reviews the requirements for technology plans for Priority 2 services.
