  *   Funding Status.  FY 2014 application window will open January 9th and close March 26th.  One funding wave is scheduled for FY 2012 this week.
  *   The "Gotcha" Box.  As an encouragement for applicants and service providers, we discuss one certification included on an E-rate form which, if checked, indicates a potentially serious rule violation.
  *   Updates and Reminders.   Form 470s for FY 2014, if not already filed, should be filed early in 2014.  Most Form 486s for FY 2013 waves 16-20 are due in January. A bipartisan Congressional group has written the FCC to encourage action to modernize the E-rate program and to increase broadband funding.    The SLD did not issue a weekly News Brief last week.
