  *   Funding Status.  FY 2014 application window opened January 9th and will close March 26th.  Funding waves for years FY 2012 and FY 2013 are scheduled this week.
  *   Black Holes - Part 2:  A $1.5 Quadrillion Problem?  Over 600 applications for funding years FY 1998 through FY 2012 are still awaiting decisions.  Weighting these applications by dollars, students affected, and years pending lead to numbers best understood by astronomers.
  *   Updates and Reminders.   Form 470s for FY 2014 should be filed as soon as possible.  Most Form 486s for FY 2013 waves 19-24 are due in January and February.
  *   SLD News Brief Dated January 17.  The SLD's latest News Brief provides guidance on evaluating competitive bids.
