New Enhancing Collaboration Across Maternal and Child Fatality Review Programs


New Oregon Child Death Review and Prevention Website is LIVE!

The State Child Death Review and Prevention Team is excited to announce the launch of the new Oregon Child Death Review and Prevention website<https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/PREVENTIONWELLNESS/SAFELIVING/CHILDDEATHREVIEWPREVENTION/Pages/index.aspx>!

The website was created in response to your feedback on the Statewide Needs Assessment and is one of many initiatives outlined in the Resource and System Improvement Plan (more to come in the months ahead).

You will find a variety of resources including a toolkit to support County Team child death reviews, State Team charter and meeting minutes, relevant statutes, access to child death data, prevention resources, an events calendar, and contact information for County Teams, State Team, Oregon Health Authority technical assistance, and Oregon Department of Justice.

Given the effectiveness of fatality review as a tool to understand risk and prevent deaths, it has become increasingly common for jurisdictions to have multiple fatality review processes in place. Please join us for Enhancing Collaboration Across Maternal and Child Fatality Review Programs, a webinar hosted by the National Center for Fatality Review and Prevention on October 20, 2022 from 2:00-2:30 PM EST.

The webinar will introduce a new resource that highlights key considerations and effective collaboration strategies to support maternal mortality review, fetal and infant mortality review, child death review, and Sudden Unexpected Infant Death and Sudden Death in the Young Case Registry activities.
