The Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention (HPCDP) section of the Oregon Public Health Division is pleased to announce that we are recruiting for a temporary position to assist with our community programs initiative. Community programs in local health departments, tribes and regional equity coalitions are integral to the work of HPCDP, and the successful applicant will provide support to this important initiative.

Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Community Programs Support Coordinator
Salary: $21.83 - $22.86 Hourly
Job Type: Temporary (six months to one year; number of hours per week to be determined)
Location: Portland, Oregon
Agency: Oregon Health Authority-Public Health Division, Tobacco Prevention & Education Program
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Oregon Public Health Division's Tobacco Prevention and Education Program Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Section is seeking a temporary community programs support coordinator. The purpose of the Community Programs Support Coordinator is to provide technical expertise and information in support of local program coordinators, local public health agencies and community organizations to implement interventions at the community and organizational level that promote norms change around tobacco, physical activity and nutrition.
Qualifications:
Experience with Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention community programs including the Tobacco Prevention and Education and Healthy Communities Programs based in county public health departments and sovereign nations governed by federally recognized tribes. The candidate will also have experience working with evidence-based tobacco prevention, physical activity and nutrition programs focused on policy, environmental and systems changes. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
