Hello Everyone,

It was a pleasure meeting many of you at the Grantee and Contractor Conference last week.  I look forward to working with you as we roll-out new health promotion strategies and communication campaigns.

I wanted to follow-up on the Facebook scavenger hunt and give you a little more background on why we put it together.

We would like Smokefree Oregon to become a place that you feel comfortable sharing your achievements, using content for your local work, and promoting to local stakeholders.    Please take a moment and complete the Facebook Scavenger Hunt that is detailed in the attached PDF. As you know, digital media, particularly social media, is an opportunity to help us further our work.  Social media is a cost-effective platform to address targeted audiences with customized and localized messages. It can power idea exchanges and provide amplification of local and state successes.  And the nature of social media allows us to engage our audience with meaningful calls to action.

In the upcoming months, we plan to make the Smokefree Oregon page more robust by including more quit services information, creating appealing apps, and provide more Oregon-specific content.  The Facebook page for Smokefree Oregon has been organically attracting smokers who are seeking quit services and peer support.  It is also a place that our partners look for new content and campaigns.
