Dear Colleagues,

CDC’s Office for State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Support (OSTLTS), in partnership with the Office for Public Health Preparedness and Response (OPHPR) and the Office of Noncommunicable Diseases, Injury and Environmental Health (ONDIEH), are pleased to announce the 2014 Call for Applications for the National Leadership Academy for the Public’s Health (NLAPH). This is an exceptional opportunity for state, tribal, local, and territorial health department grantees.

NLAPH is an applied leadership training program that enables multi-sector jurisdictional teams address public health problems within their communities through team-identified health improvement projects.

Please forward this message with the attachments to grantees and health department leadership.

The attachments include:


  1.  Cover Letter that provides a “handy tool” to use when describing the NLAPH program with grantees (who, what, where, when, why, and how).
  2.  The “2014 Call for Applications” that provides eligibility criteria for NLAPH and a link to the application. (All applications must be submitted by November 26, 2013, by 5:00 PM, PST.)
  3.  NLAPH announcement with official information concerning NLAPH.
