Hello Coordinators,
The new SmokefreeOregon.com has been up and running for the last couple of weeks, and we have begun to drive people to the website through our social media channels. So far, so good. Please let me know how you are using the new website and heroes videos. I hope that this tool is useful to you!
Below are some ideas about how you can contribute to and promote the website to help you with your work.
Ideas on how to promote the new Smokefree Oregon (SFO) site:
o Write "Check out the new Smokefree Oregon website at smokefreeoregon.com" at the bottom of your email signature.
o Any time you update a document (e.g. fact sheets, PPT presentation, flyers at events), call out the new website.
o If there is a Hero video from your county or tribe:
§ Send out a press release to pitch their story to your local paper (samples attached).
§ Throughout September, SFO's Facebook page will have post on Heroes. Repost your Hero on your Facebook page, driving to the new website.
o Promote the new website on your own Facebook, Twitter and other social media pages.
· How to contribute to the new website on an on-going basis:
o Provide any updates you suggest we make on the site for your county or tribal section. For example, updated contact information or a new quote/video from you. We will be rolling out new hero videos shortly...all part of a larger plan to keep content fresh and sustain our growing audience over time.
o For events/local actions, please be sure to provide those at least one month ahead of time. We plan to unveil this section soon.
Information on the old site is not lost. We have created hidden pages for those items that were popular resources. Below are a list of pages.
