The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 10 is hosting a Tribal Summit on September 26, 2014, "Promoting In-Home Interventions to Improve Asthma Outcomes".

The EPA is calling tribal leader participants including individuals who: (1) can support and elevate the perceived importance of efforts to secure reimbursement for in-home interventions, (2) are responsible for or strongly influence the way healthcare delivery is managed in tribal communities, and (3) manage housing.

The intent of the summit is to:
* Capitalize on current healthcare landscape and develop a 5-year plan for action aimed at improving asthma outcomes for children (0-18) among tribal populations in Washington, Oregon and Idaho by driving reimbursement for, and delivery of, in-home interventions.
* Form initial leadership group in health, housing and environment sectors to help drive a coordinated action plan forward.
* Develop an approach and timeline for expanding the group of tribal stakeholders working together to increase reimbursement for and delivery of in-home environmental assessments and interventions.
* Identify opportunities to spread reimbursement strategies to tribes across R10 and nationwide.

The summit is invitation-only, with participation limited to 50-60 leaders from the three states in Region 10. As you can see from the attached One-Pager, under "Who Needs to Be in the Room for This First of Many Conversations?", tribal representatives are first on the list. Please consider participating. To express interest, contact Carolyn Gleason, Regional MCH Consultant at the US Department of Health and Human Services, Maternal and Child Health Bureau, at (206) 615-2486 or cgleason at hrsa.gov<mailto:cgleason at hrsa.gov>.
