Good morning, RHECs, County and Tribal ADPEP and TPEP Coordinators -

I'm passing on some exciting legislative news, which is that House Bill 2261, an sales ban on the remote sales of inhalant delivery systems, is officially law! You can see the full history of the bill here: https://olis.leg.state.or.us/liz/2021R1/Measures/Overview/HB2261.

The Oregon Department of Justice championed this bill, and OHA was happy to provide data and context on why online sales bans are an important part of limiting youth access to e-cigarettes and other vaping products. Thanks to all of you who also provided local data and stories - this bill moved remarkably smoothly, even during a complicated legislative session.

We'll work with Department of Justice on any publicity leading up to the effective date of January 1, 2022 and will be sure to keep you all posted. In the meantime, feel free to reach out with any questions.

Best regards,
Sarah W.
