[NACCHO Logo]With funding from the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, and in coordination with the Association of State and
Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and the National Network of
Public Health Institutes (NNPHI), the National Association of County
and City Health Officials (NACCHO) has announced a new funding
opportunity for public health departments and organizations that
provide technical assistance for accreditation (e.g., Public Health
Institutes and SACCHOs) to prepare for or undertake accreditation
activities. This opportunity is intended to increase the readiness of
health departments to apply for national accreditation.

Eligible applicants must identify an area of need around accreditation
readiness and must demonstrate how they will use these funds to
address this need and be better prepared to achieve accreditation.
Awards of between $5,000 and $40,000 each will be provided. The
project period will run from November 15, 2011 through May 31, 2012.

Applications are due by Friday October 28th. An informational call
outlining this funding opportunity will be held on Monday, October
