Good morning,
I am attaching the application to apply for an August 2013-2014 Oregon Health Authority VISTA member. The applications are due by 5 pm on Friday, August, 26, 2013. We have changed the application due to some program changes, so please review carefully. In addition, the VISTA Assignment Description (VAD) needs to be more detailed and have a stronger tie to the VISTA anti-poverty mission. I have also attached a document, "How to Write Effective VADs". Please read that document and use as your guide. Finally, I have attached a sample VAD from Marion County that you may also want to review as another resource.

Please make sure to mark on the application whether or not you will be able to cost-share: $11, 136 for rural Oregon, or 11, 352 for metro areas for the year. Based on final CNCS approval, we hope to have 13 standard positions which will cost $ 2,500 (slight increase from last year) for the year and then at least 7 cost-share positions.  If your site can cost-share, you will have a stronger chance to be guaranteed a VISTA resource.

I will be out of the office all of this week (April 8-15). However, Alyssa Bostian (alyssa.bostian at state.or.us<mailto:alyssa.bostian at state.or.us>) will be able to answer questions in my absence.
