Thanks for the responses, everyone. It sounds like we're on the right track, which is a relief. I'm sure I'll have other questions down the road...

Regards,

Kim

Good point – Could also be important for your MOE and match.

Best,

Maura

As far as if you’re supposed to use those funds to pay salary for staff assigned to approved project work, it’s your choice. If you have someone on payroll who spends time on LSTA projects, then you definitely are allowed to use those funds to pay their salary, proportionate to the time they spend working on projects. But if you’d prefer to put that money towards other project expenses while using state funds to pay your staff, that’s fine too. So it’s allowed but not required. (Just in case that was any part of the confusion! ??)

All,

A couple of questions have arisen about how LSTA covers staff wages, etc. We lost our resident expert unexpectedly, and I couldn't find any written guidance that covers more detailed information. If you know of something that covers the nitty gritty of the LSTA grant, I would love to learn it!

1. Are you supposed to use LSTA to pay 100% of staff salary for approved project work, or is the state supposed to pitch in?

2. Is LSTA money used for benefits?

Thank you in advance,

Kim
