Hello and Happy December. Just an FYI -  I was recently working with a crime victim where one of the issues surrounded notification regarding a change in where the offender was being supervised. In this case there seemed to be a little confusion surrounding VINE notification on "transfers" so I asked Karen Roddy for clarification and below is the information provided, which she gave me permission to share as I thought it might be useful to you.

Subject: VINE Notification for Community Correction Transfers

This issue has come up a few times in the last few months.  I wanted to clarify what VINE does and does not notify on in regards to transfers.

The VINE "transfer" notification is triggered for the following custody movements:


·         DOC institution to institution

·         DOC to county jail

·         County jail to DOC

·         Jail to jail transfers


The program is not currently set-up to trigger a notification when an offender's community supervision transfers from one county to another.
DOC and Appriss (VINE) are currently reviewing the programming challenges around adding this notification.
