[OMS_MANAGERS] Do you have a Pub Crawl or Wine Walk?

We do a Cork and Brew event in Tillamook that starts at our downtown brewery, Pelican, and participants check in, get id'd and get a bracelet, a "passport" and a glass. We do a kick off party at the brewery, which lasts about an hour and a half, and then we set people loose to visit any of the 12 stops that are on the passport. Each of the 12 stops hosts a beer and a wine, and people get a tasting pour of one or the other, in addition to a food item. There is always at least one food item plus a to-go pizza menu at each stop to fill OLCC requirements. Each stop is responsible for securing the food at their place (some pay a caterer, others make trades or get donations). Because of some of the relationships I have with breweries, we have been able to get most of the beer donated, but have not been able to build those same relationships with wineries (yet), so we pay for the wine.
When we sell the tickets (through Eventbrite and at the Pelican Tap Room) we state that there is no open containers on the street, we remind everyone of that at the launch party, and we expect the volunteer pourers and business owners at each stop to make sure people aren't drinking on the sidewalk. We provide "dump buckets" at each location, because sometimes the issue is really just that people don't like the taster.
The first couple of years we had some rowdy people, but they have weaned themselves out. We also do not give away tickets- the first two years we gave away tickets over the radio and in a newspaper promotion, and every single one of those free ticket people turned out to be problematic.
Also worth noting- we cap the event. We only have about 300 tickets available, and while we could sell more, we've limited it to keep the food cost affordable, and make the beer donation more feasible for breweries. There are also is a limit at OLCC about how many people cam attend before you hit a threshold where insurance is required, so we keep that in mind also.
Hopefully that's helpful. Feel free to reach out to me directly with any questions or just to talk logistics.

Subject: [OMS_MANAGERS] Do you have a Pub Crawl or Wine Walk?
Hi Everyone,
One of our Main Street Managers would like to know which Main Street towns have a pub crawl or wine walk event with the participants using the same cup/glass and going from business to business. They have some question about liability, etc. If you could reply to this message if you do have an event like this, that would be great!
Best,
