[OMS_MANAGERS] Creating a Historic District

We are in the middle of the streetscape right now. Instead of undergrounding power, we are rerouting it to be off street and on the side streets instead. It saved $500K and would less disruptive to businesses. To underground power, the businesses may have had to upgrade their electrical panels which would be a few thousand dollars in cost and have downtime to their business.  I’m happy to answer any questions you have as well.

Our Main Street organization is interested in creating a historic district in town, but it will be a pretty big undertaking that might include laying underground wires instead of using the power poles.  Our board wanted me to see if anyone has undertaken a project of this size, and what steps you took to move forward on it.
