 Hello All..
Do I ever remember the winter of 1949, In North Eastern Oregon above
Flora, My Uncle Raymond was out getting wood by falling a tree and seen a
flying squirral and while he was watching the animal the tree fell on him
and he was killed, he was home on leave from the Army after WW11 and was
helping the family.

And we was living in Baker, Ore and I can remember seeing Mom crying when I
got home from School wading through SNOW to my knees where it wasn't
shoveled, and we got into the Model-T Dad had and to North Eastern
Wallowa Co, we went, man was the grades slick and it was slow motion
driving, I can see that yet it is so plain in my mind, I was 9 yrs old, (I
called Mom to make sure I was remebering the real thing, and I am not
dreaming,)
and to get to Grandpa's ranch we had to let them know we was at the turn off
at Hwy and he came out to the Highway to get us with the Horse and Sled, we
went back into the Ranch house 6 miles and when we got there the the snow
was 6 ft deep. was so pretty but so deep.

WE could & did go up on the hill and we sleigh ride down to the barn yard
over the top of the fences even, where the snow was so deep it was way up
over the fences, and the trails they dug out was tunnels the snow was way
over our heads.

Goodness I could go on for ever with memories up there, It was so
pretyy and and we had so much fun back in that area.

My Bork Family Homesteaded back in the Day ridgfe area in the late 1800's
and early 1900's. Lots of Memories and History..

You all have a good one..
It is snowing here in Central Ore today..
Pretty..but wet...
Rosalie
