Jeremiah Shea's barn and WW II

I hope this will not bring forth flames about the war in Iraq, BUT...

On day Doug (1908-1997) and I were playing outside when we saw a convoy of Army vehicles traveling east on HWY 20 past our house; the Jeremia Shea house. They pulled over to the side of the road and went into our barn to take a break.

We went to the barn and talked to the soldiers. I don't recall what was said, and I don't know where they were going. I do recall that I made them welcome, and told them to stay as long as they wished. Pretty damned bold for a 6 year old kid!

Keep in mind that this was durring WW II, and they could have been headed to Germany!

VE and VJ days were not long in following this visit by our US Army.
