Ran across an old post on the subject by Dan Matney in response to someone's query on said poem, I note that the answer did get posted, but according to Freedman there were actually two books of his poetry, one he put together that didn't get published because the publisher went belly up just as they were ready to print, and "The Gold Gated West" published by his sister years after his death which some critics claim altered his verses significantly. A lot of his poems were published in papers of the day and an ambitious student could probably put together a better collection if they wanted to spend ten years looking for them in newspapers.
According to Friedman he didn't really write much about Oregon aside from the subject which he had titled "Ad Willamettam"  but some of what is written about him seems to make much of his writing about the west. Oh well.
His bio in the book even published the incorrect year of his death, he died in 1899, not 1900.
