Good morning Section 218 Employers:

For those of you who attended one of the recent employer training sessions, you will recall that there was a great deal of discussion centered around filing of the new Statewide Transit Tax (STT). Chris Cox, of the Department of Revenue, has designed an Excel Filing Spreadsheet which should make this task much easier for you.

Below is Chris' email and attached is the spreadsheet.

Thank you.

Subject: Revenue On Line excel spreadsheet

Pamella, can you send this out please.

This can be used only if you will be filing on ROL(you can't use this to mail in your email employee detail if filling by paper). As long as you can get the data into excel then on ROL you can import it when filing your quarterly return on ROL. Any questions concerning how to file on ROL let me know.

Below are some FAQ'S

1) Should the file include the header row in the first line? (Yes the header needs to be there)
2) What is the format for the SSN? Should it include dashes or not? (it does not matter how you enter it into the spread sheet it will put the dashes in for you.)
3) Should the two amount fields for the wages and tax both include a period and two decimal places? (the spread sheet does this for you for any value that is missing the period and decimal places. Example you enter $13.1 it will put the extra zero to make it $13.10)
4) Am I correct in assuming there should be no period in the 'Employee first initial' values? (Yes that is correct)

The worksheet is formatted to work correctly with importing into Revenue On Line.
