RE: Special Education Report Validation Period

On April 1, 2009, ODE will be releasing the 2007-2008 Special Education Reports. In preparation for this public reporting, districts and EI/ECSE programs are being asked to validate information that will be included in the reports. The validation window is March 9 - 17, 2009.

The ODE Report Card/AYP application is being used to validate the information.

Access:
1. District/program staff should contact their Security Administrator if they do not currently have a logon and/or access to the ODE Report Card/AYP application.
2. Security Administrators must authorize access to the appropriate district/program staff if they are not currently authorized. This may require setting up login IDs for staff and showing them how to login and navigate to the application.

Validating the data:
1. Login into the ODE secure district web site at https://district.ode.state.or.us/apps/login/default.aspx?quicklogin=1
2. Select the Report Card/AYP application from the Application list.
3. On the validation menu:
* Districts: Select the row that identifies the "District".
* EI-ECSE: Your institution will automatically be the only row that shows.
4. Select "SpEd Report Card PDF" on the pull-down menu.
5. The data will be available in two formats to validate:
* The pdf of the Special Education Report under the "View SpEd Report Card" URL link.
* The details including the numerators, denominators, and the percents for the numbers that are presented in the actual Special Education Report.
6. After reviewing the data, the district or EI/ECSE contractor will need to select one:
a) Accept, which generates an e-mail to ODE and the submitter with the subject line indicating Accept
or
b) Appeal, which generates an e-mail to ODE and the submitter with the subject line indicating Appeal. The submitter must list the issues.

Users needing assistance with the Report Card/AYP application can access the user guide at https://district.ode.state.or.us/apps/info/docs/ReportCard_AYP_UG.pdf.
