RE: TA available from the National Post-School Outcome Center (NPSO)
Hi Everyone
I hope that this e-mail finds you rested and rejuvenated from Spring Break and ready to tackle the end of school year!
The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) applied for and is receiving intensive Technical Assistance (TA) from the National Post-School Outcome Center (NPSO) for the next year. As part of this collaboration, ODE has developed a work plan that includes the goal to improve the Post School Outcome (PSO 2.0) data collection process and procedures. To meet this goal, we need districts to provide the following:
1) Names and contact information for those personnel expected to be making the calls to students to complete the Follow Up data collection this year (interview); and,
2) Names and contact information for those personnel in your district who provide transition services to the students (Transition teachers/specialists).
The PSO 2.0 application now includes four check boxes on the Agency Contact bar at the lower part of the opening screen. After entering a name and contact information, you can check one or more of the four choices: a) contact for the Exit collection, b) contact for the Follow Up collection, c) interviewer, and d) secondary transition teacher or specialist. The names and contact information must be entered by May 9, 2013.
Webinar training will be held at 2:00 pm on May 13, 2013 on the Post School Outcome Collection. Information will be available on future opportunities including topics such as improving your district's response rate, reaching hard to find kids, and soliciting feedback on the collection procedures. Information on getting access to the WebEx Conference can be found at
http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/results/?id=336.
The optional Exit Collection is open now and the PSO Mandatory Follow Up Collection will open June 1st. The list of required students to interview will be posted April 25, 2013.
If you have questions regarding the Webinar, contact Sally Simich at 503.947.5639 or email sally.simich at state.or.us<mailto:sally.simich at state.or.us>. If you have technical questions about entering the district contact information contact Pattie Johnson at 503.838.8779 or email johnsop at wou.edu<mailto:johnsop at wou.edu>.
Thank you again for your quick response in providing the department with this information.
Sally
