Hello District 5 Self-Sufficiency/Child Welfare Staff and Community Partners,

Tuesday Tidbits are short, specific info bites you can use and share to increase collective knowledge of Lane County's wide-ranging community resource landscape.
Below you will find Mental and Physical Health resources being offered in and for our local community.

[cid:image003.png at 01DAF2ED.8BC6E650]NAMI has created resources for students, educators, parents and caregivers, and trusted adults to help with the return to classrooms.
With these resources, adults can help children, teens, and young adults ease into school routines, develop healthy habits that foster mental wellbeing, and talk about mental health openly.

NAMI Lane County offers support groups that are peer-led and offer participants an opportunity to share their experiences and gain support from other attendees.

On August 28th, 5-8 PM, join TransPonder and Cascadia Wildlands at Mount Pisgah Arboretum for music, outdoor workshops, guided hikes, and more.
FREE, all ages welcome.

There are many barriers for people within the queer, trans/gender-diverse, BIPOC. and/or disabled communities when it comes to having positive and rewarding outdoor experiences, and yet, nature is for everyone. That’s why TransPonder is proud to be partnering with the Mt. Pisgah Arboretum and Cascadia Wildlands for an evening of nature-based fun specifically created for queer, trans, and other marginalized folks.

Ko-Kwel is open to all American Indians and Alaska Natives of federally recognized tribes, as well as community members with insurance plans that they accept. Please see the attached flyer to learn more.

The staff are there to offer support to youth, young adults, and families.
If you’re feeling unsafe, overwhelmed, or just need someone to talk to feel free to call them at (541)-689-3111.
For the month of July, they were able to field 116 calls and spent 489 minutes supporting folks over the phone!
This can look like a lot of things, from finding community resources to crisis intervention over the phone, but at the end of the day they’re there to have a conversation!
