During times of crisis, young children need strong emotional support from parents and educators to feel safe and secure. One of the most difficult topics to explain to a child is deportation, an issue that can cause deep fear, confusion, and anxiety, especially for children in immigrant families.

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

  *   How to use social stories as a tool to explain deportation in an age-appropriate way.
  *   Ways to provide honest yet comforting communication with children experiencing fear or uncertainty.
  *   Strategies for educators & caregivers to step in when parents are unable to have these conversations.
