January 3, 2021 - Malheur County (Ontario) 2021 #2
Police responded to a residence after a family member of victim reported that she was being held against her will in the home.  A hostage situation developed, and after 4 hours of negotiations, a flash bang and chemical gas convinced Henry Martinez Jr (49) to exit the house.  He threatened police with a knife and he was shot and killed by law enforcement.  When officers entered the house they found Martinez's girlfriend, Carlen Mercado (51), deceased.  She is believed to have been stabbed.
