  *   Funding Status.  The FY 2013 application window opened December 12 and will close March 14.  Funding waves for FY 2010, FY 2011, and FY 2012 are scheduled for this week.
  *   Nationwide Progress on Direct Certification.  USDA's latest report on the use of direct certification, updated for 2011-2012, shows that the percentage of schools that directly certify SNAP participants is fast approaching 90%.  Direct certification matching should increase NSLP participation rates which, in turn, may increase E-rate discount rates
  *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders. The FCC released four more appeal decisions last week.  The SLD confirmed the release of a new round of PQA audits.
  *   SLD News Brief for December 7.  The SLD's last News Brief discusses the SLD's training site which can be used to practice online entry of Forms 470, 471, and 486.
