Good morning,

I have some exciting materials to share that may help support your efforts in coordinating with local state agency offices and disability service provider organizations:

1. Thanks to all who completed the survey describing your coordination activities with these agencies. See the attached PowerPoint that summarizes the survey results.

2. The Cross Agency Health Improvement Project page on HPCDP Connection is now updated with guidance around carrying out these activities and includes new talking points you can use as you connect with these community partners: https://partners.health.oregon.gov/Partners/HPCDPConnection/Pages/CrossAgencyHealthImprovementProject.aspx

3. There are new materials available for download that promote the Oregon Tobacco Quit Line featuring people with disabilities. The materials are available in two places:
https://public.health.oregon.gov/PreventionWellness/TobaccoPrevention/EducationalResources/Pages/index.aspx
http://smokefreeoregon.com/resources/disability-quit-resources/

Please contact your liaison if you have any questions or if you want to connect with me - I've enjoyed speaking individually with many of you to discuss and troubleshoot these activities.

Best, Beth

Subject: TPEP coordination with state agency offices and disability service providers - please complete survey by Sept. 10th

Dear TPEP Grantees,

Since January 2014, there have been three opportunities/requests where HPCDP asked TPEP coordinators to contact local offices of state agency and nonprofit organizations to support the efforts of the Cross Agency Health Improvement Project and Tobacco Education Project for People with Disabilities. The requests include:

* Contacting Children and Families (CAF) Division Field Offices and Local SNAP ED Agencies to establish a relationship and identify opportunities to promote Quit Line materials with clients.

* Contacting disability service provider organizations in your county to offer technical assistance around tobacco free properties, cessation referral systems and offering Quit Line materials.
As a reminder, these activities align with the "Offer" Component of the MPOWER framework in your workplans. The upcoming 2014-2015 TPEP workplan requires that grantees work on these types of activities with local state agency offices.

By Wednesday, September 10th, please complete this survey<https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LTXYKBB>, which asks TPEP Coordinators to 1) provide a status update on your progress around responding to these requests; and 2) share feedback on how HPCDP can provide helpful guidance, troubleshooting, and other support to ensure that these requests are completed.

Information from the surveys will help HPCDP staff report back on progress to partners participating in the Cross Agency Heath Improvement Project and the Tobacco Education Project for People with Disabilities.
If you haven't completed these requests yet, you are encouraged to review the attached guidance and contact the outlined agencies before filling out the survey.

Thanks in advance for your participation. Please contact your liaison if you have any questions.

Warm regards, Beth
